He noted there <br />is capacity for Lino Lakes in the interceptor located near County <br />Road J and Lexington Avenue. He suggested the Council determine the <br />need for municipal sewer in this area by holding a public hearing then <br />ask Shoreview to include this in their project. <br />Mr. Davidson outlined the availability of municipal water from Shore- <br />view. Here again, he suggested determining the need for the facility <br />by holding a public hearing. <br />There was further discussion on the cost of installing the sewer to each <br />property and Mr. Davidson said he outlined the costs in his project <br />status report. <br />Mr. Reinert said sometime in the very near future, the Council will need <br />to set a policy so they can be more consistent on how the City deals <br />with financing municipal improvements. His concern regarded area assess- <br />ments. <br />Mr. Kulaszewicz moved to set a public hearing for August 13, 1984 at <br />7:15 P.M. to find out who is interested in using the Shoreview municipal <br />sewer and water. Mr. Reinert seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mr. Schumacher and Mr. Davidson will contact Shoreview to obtain addi- <br />tional information on Shoreview's intentions for future extensions. <br />LA MOTTE PARK <br />Mr. Volk told the Council that the Park Board has recommended to the <br />Council that a public hearing be set for the purpose of vacating La <br />Motte Park. <br />Mr. Hawkins explained that if the City does vacate this park the title <br />will revert to the original landowners. The City now only has an <br />easement over the property for park purposes, the original owners are <br />the fee owners. He recommended that this vacation should be handled as <br />if vacating a street, publish a notice in the legal newspaper and mail <br />notices to every landowner in the plat. <br />Mr. Marier moved to set a public hearing on August 13, 1984 at 7:30 P.M. <br />for the purpose of vacating LaMotte Park. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the <br />motion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />REPORT ON 1984 ROAD PROGRAM <br />1984 Seal -Coat Program <br />Mr. Volk presented to the Council his 1984 seal cost program and asked <br />the Council to approve his plans and specifications and approve adver- <br />tising for bids. He explained he was unsuccessful in getting into the <br />Anoka County seal coat program this year, but will try again next year. <br />Mr. Marier moved to approve the 1984 seal coat program and advertise <br />for bids.
