1
1
1
SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
October 9, 1984
A special meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to
order at 6:35 P.M., Tuesday, October 9, 1984 by Mayor Benson.
The purpose of the meeting was for budget review. Council members
present: Reinert, Bohjanen, Kulaszewicz. Mr. Marier arrived at
6:45. City Administrator, Randy Schumacher and Deputy Clerk,
Marilyn Anderson were also present.
Mr. Schumacher explained that this is the third work session for
the proposed 1985 City Budget.
At the work session on September 24, 1984, the Mayor had asked that
the City Staff prepare a budget reflecting a $50,000 surplus. Mr.
Schumacher summarized his proposal as to where the departments
could be reduced to achieve the $50,000 surplus. This new proposal
reflects a levy of $775,000 which would keep the mill rate the
same. He further explained how these cuts would affect programs
within the departments. Mayor Benson asked that the budget work-
sheets be updated to reflect the changes noted tonight. He also
asked that the worksheets and the review sheets be sent to the
Council.
He recommended a final budget not be set until the Fire District
completes their budget. However, the 1984 levy payable in 1985
must be set tonight.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:55 P.M.
011
