• Council Member Stoltz introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />• <br />• <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 07 -137 <br />AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT AND TEMPORARY LIQUOR <br />LICENSE FOR A HORSESHOE TOURNMENT AT AMERICAN LEGION POST 566 <br />ON SEPTEMBER 29 & 30, 2007 <br />WHEREAS, the manager of American Legion Post 566 has submitted an application <br />for a special event permit and a 1 to 4 day temporary liquor license in conjunction <br />with a event planned for September 29 & 30, 2007, and <br />WHEREAS, the event planned is a horseshoe tournament; <br />WHEREAS, as part of the event the Post would like to allow consumption of alcoholic <br />beverages in a fenced area outside of but contiguous to their building; <br />WHEREAS, the Post has indicated that all beverages will be serviced inside the <br />building and patrons or members attending the event will receive a proper <br />identification check to ensure no underage alcohol service will occur; <br />WHEREAS, the Centennial Fire District inspector has reviewed the plans for the <br />event; <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department has reviewed the special event application and <br />event plans and conducted the necessary background investigation on the applicant <br />and officers of the American Legion post; <br />WHEREAS, proof of general liability and liquor liability insurance has been submitted <br />by the Post; <br />WHEREAS, the Alcohol & Gambling Enforcement Division requires that this type of <br />temporary liquor application be approved by the City of Lino Lakes City Council <br />before submitting for approval to the Liquor Control Board. <br />Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved by The City Council of The City of Lino Lakes: <br />That the City Council authorizes issuance of a Special Event Permit and grants local <br />approval of a 1 -4 day temporary liquor license to American Legion Post 566 for a <br />special event on September 29 & 30, 2007. <br />
