COUNCIL MINUTES June 2, 2014 DRAFT 1 CITY OF LINO LAKES 2 MINUTES 3 4 DATE : June 2, 2014 5 TIME STARTED : 5:35 p.m. 6 TIME ENDED : 5:50 p.m. 7 MEMBERS PRESENT : Council Member Stoesz, Kusterman, Rafferty, 8 and Mayor Reinert 9 MEMBERS ABSENT : Council Member Roeser 10 11 Staff members present: City Administrator Jeff Karlson; Community Development Director Michael 12 Grochala; Chief of Police John Swenson; Finance Director Al Rolek; and City Clerk Julie Bartell 13 14 PUBLIC COMMENT 15 16 No one was present to address the council regarding a matter not on the agenda. 17 18 SETTING THE AGENDA 19 20 The agenda was approved as presented. 21 22 ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT 23 24 1A) Resolution No. 14-50, Approving the Incorporation of Fire Services in the Public Safety 25 Department — Administrator Karlson reviewed the resolution, noting that the council previously 26 directed staff to continue toward the option of fire services within a public safety department. The 27 council set this special meeting to allow further time for review of the Fire Department Analysis 28 report prepared by Springsted. The resolution lays out the process for moving in the direction of the 29 public safety department. 30 31 The council discussed the consultant services anticipated in the future, including the services of 32 former Fire Chief Milo Bennett. 33 34 Motion by Council Member Kusterman, seconded by Stoesz, to approve Resolution No. 14-50, as 35 presented, was adopted on a voice vote.
