DEVELOPMENT, FINANCE AND POLICY PLAN <br />As the regional parks and recreation agency, Anoka County will be the lead entity to <br />coordinate trail alignment and development throughout th' proposed corridor. The <br />county will work with the local jurisdictions, the Cities of aine, Centerville and Lino <br />Lakes, to ensure that the trail is planned and incorporated into future development <br />projects. The Cities of Blaine, Centerville and L,rio Lakes, by their resolutions of <br />support, will provide for recognition and acceptonce of trail development opportunities <br />when possible. Incorporating this trail corridor into the local, as well as the County's <br />Comprehensive Plans, will ensure that e s are made to succesSf y plan for and <br />develop the proposed trail. <br />Upon the Metropolitan Council's approval of thy master plan, the County and local <br />jurisdictions will have a variety- of funding options rovidefortrail development. Trail <br />development will be eligible for re4ionciL dollars froii the State of Minnesota and the <br />Metropolitan Council through the regionof Capital Improvements Program. Funds from <br />the Metropolitan Council can be sought in a "dvance ors ° "as reimbursement. Grant <br />dollars from federal programs, such s the National Recreation program or the Federal <br />Trails program ould be atilized Other federal funding sources, such as, the Federal <br />Transportation Enhancement program, as well as other state trail funds could be <br />obtained.
