CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION March 24, 2014 <br />DRAFT <br />1 CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />2 MINUTES <br />3 <br />4 DATE : March 24, 2014 <br />5 TIME STARTED : 5:30 p.m. <br />6 TIME ENDED : 6:20 p.m. <br />7 MEMBERS PRESENT : Council Member Stoesz, Kusterman, <br />8 Rafferty, Roeser and Mayor Reinert <br />9 MEMBERS ABSENT : None <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 Staff members present: City Administrator Jeff Karlson; City Planner Katie Larsen; <br />13 Public Safety Director John Swenson <br />14 <br />15 1. Update on DEA Task Force — Police Chief Swenson reported on the city's <br />16 participation in the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Task Force, Group 71 assigned to <br />17 the Minneapolis /St. Paul area. One Lino Lakes Police Officer is assigned to the group. <br />18 He explained the benefits that the city receives due to that participation, including <br />19 additional resources in dealing with drug crimes. His report also included information on <br />20 the regional impact of drugs, training that is received through the task force, and the <br />21 financial implications of participation. The council reviewed a summary of investigations <br />22 that the Lino Lakes' officer has joined. <br />23 <br />24 This was an information item for the council; no action was requested. <br />25 <br />26 2.
