CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 1H <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Jeff Karlson <br />MEETING DATE: March 10, 2014 <br />TOPIC: Employment Extension for PT Scanner Operators <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The Council is being asked to approve extending the employment of two part-time scanner <br />operators until December 23, 2014. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Last October the City Council authorized the hiring of two temporary part-time scanner <br />operators for six months. The Council approved a six-month employment extension last <br />March, which would end October 16. <br />The 2015 budget includes the retention of one part-time scanner, so the intent is to keep one of <br />the scanners for another year. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve employment extension for part-time scanner operators until December 23, 2014. <br />
