044. <br />SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 14, 1986 <br />A special meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order <br />by Acting Mayor Reinert at 6:00 P.M., Monday, April 14, 1986. Members <br />present: Bisel, Bohjanen, Marier. Mayor Benson was absent. City <br />Administrator, Randy Schumacher; Chief Campbell and Clerk- Treasurer, <br />Marilyn Anderson were also present. <br />Mr. Reinert explained the purpose of the special meeting was to in- <br />terview the three candidates for the position of Lino Lakes police <br />officer. <br />Steven James Palma - Mr. Palma is currently working for the Dodge <br />Center Police Department as a patrolman and with the ambulance ser- <br />vice. This is a five member department and they handle all aspects <br />of police work including investigations. <br />Mr. Palma is married and has graduated from Lakewood Community College <br />and enjoys hunting, fishing and coaching hockey and soccor in his <br />Leasure time. <br />Mr. Reinert asked where Mr. Palma planned to live if he were hired <br />at Lino Lakes. Mr. Palma said he would live near Lino Lakes because <br />then he would be near his relatives. He would like to get back into <br />the twin city area. <br />Mr. Bisel asked him to discribe his worst experience. He described a <br />domestic incident and his method of handling the situation. <br />1 <br />Mr. Marier asked if he had other reasons for changing jobs at this <br />time. Mr. Palma explained Dodge Centers population is about 2600 <br />and has not changed much over the past ten years. He would like to work <br />in a larger more diverse community. He also explained he is familar <br />with Lino Lakes and felt he would not have a problem with its geograph- <br />ical area. <br />Kevin William Wagman Mr. Wagman is presently employed by the Clark - <br />field Police Department as a patrol officer. He grew up in the metro <br />area and graduated from Alexandria Area Technical Institute. He is <br />single but is getting married this summer. He likes to fish and <br />likes the terrain in the eastern part of Minnesota rather than the <br />flat western portion of Minnesota. He said he would relocate to <br />within thirty minutes of Lino Lakes, probably Columbia Heights. <br />Mr. Bisel asked Mr. Wagma to explain a rewarding experience.
