106 <br />Joint Meeting <br />June 4, 1986 <br />Page Two <br />Mr. Marier suggested that Lino Lakes inform Metro Council that all our <br />boundary lines are filled and the growth is spilling into Lino Lakes. <br />There was discussion of areas of Lino Lakes that are experiencing in- <br />terest in development. <br />In reference to the letter submitted by Mr, Wuornos directed to Metro <br />Council, it was decided to amend several areas: <br />Item II. <br />Item IV. <br />Express that good land in the south was given to <br />metro parks and the balance is more expensive to <br />develop as well as the fact Lino Lakes has restric- <br />ted its tax base by giving up all lakeshore property. <br />Add language regarding the percent of communities <br />surrounding Lino Lakes who have already developed <br />are putting pressure on Lino Lakes, <br />Item VII. Define boundaries of the proposed MUSA area. <br />It was suggested that the Task Force and the Council contact Mary Hansen, <br />State Representative and the County Commissioner and have them attend <br />the meeting where Mr. Shelter will appear, <br />Mr. Schumacher asked Mr. Wuronos to revise his letter to Metro Council <br />to include the above mentioned items. This letter will be ready for <br />Council approval on June 9, 1986. <br />Dennis Erickson Plat. <br />A request has been received to include the Erickson plat in the MUSA lines. <br />It was decided not to support Comp Plan amendment for the plat at this <br />time but to include it with all the other revisions in the Comp Plan. <br />Mr. Johnson said that the City is making a good faith effort to update <br />the Comp Plan so why throw a curve at Metro Council at this point. It <br />could lessen our credibility. <br />Task Force Update. <br />Mr. Johnson presented maps that have been `prepared for the Comp Plan <br />update and explained the progress of the Task Force. The Task Force <br />still needs to refine its information. He expects to complete the work soon. <br />Mr. Schumacher explained to the Task Force that $9,000.00 was budgeted <br />for updating the Comp Plan. To date the Comp Plan Update has cost <br />$8,400.00. Mayor Benson requested that Mr. Johnson get an estimate to <br />Mr. Schumacher of what he expects the final costs to be. <br />Mr. Joyer told the Council he felt the Task Force had received high <br />quality of information from the City Planner. He expressed his apprec- <br />iation for this work. <br />The meeting adjourned at 7:30 ; . `•1 . <br />
