4r. <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />July 28, 1986 <br />Page Four <br />existing facilities located within each community <br />and construction standards. <br />2 That the Communities of Lino Lakes, Shoreview, Blaine <br />and Circle Pines do hereby request from the appro- <br />priate regulatory agency, be it the United States <br />Department of Transportation, Office of Pipeline <br />Safety Operations or the National Transportation <br />Safety Board, professional and technical assistance <br />with regards to a pipeline inspection and evaluation. <br />We feel this request is warranted based on the Mounds - <br />view incident, as well as the Williams Pipeline Com- <br />pany's record over the past several years. <br />Passed by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 28th day of <br />July, 1986. <br />t <br />“<.�,.,f'� <br />Clerk- Treasurer <br />Mayor Benson asked that the staff obtain information on how Circle <br />Pines Gas Utility and North Central Public Service mark their lines <br />to avoid unintentional cutting of the lines. <br />CONSIDERATION OF PARTICIPATING IN MINNESOTA SEAT BELT COALITION PROGRAM <br />Chief Campbell explained the purpose of the coalition is to support <br />the seat belt law and to provide education regarding the law. There <br />is no membership fee. <br />Chief Campbell and Public Works Director told the Council they will <br />mandate that their employees using City vehicles use seat belts. <br />Chief Campbell told the Council that he expects that in the future <br />there will be penalties enforced for not using seat belts. <br />Mr. Marier moved to approve enrollment in the Minnesota Seat Belt <br />Coalition. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion. Motion carried unani- <br />mously. <br />
