218 <br />COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 24, 1987 ' <br />RESOLUTION NO. 39 - 87, DECLARING COST TO BE ASSESSED AND ORDERING <br />PREPARATION OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT FOR CERTAIN RESIDENTS ON ASH STREET <br />(EXTENSION OF SHOREVIEW UTILITIES) <br />Mr. Stahlberg indicated that he did not have the final figures for <br />this project as he just received the various costs today. Several <br />things did affect this project. First only seven homeowners petition <br />for the improvements. Later two more homeowners petitioned. When the <br />improvement was bid, the bids came in more than 10% higher than the <br />Engineer's estimate and all the bids were rejected. The improvement <br />was completed with day labor. In addition Ramsey County added to the <br />costs of the improvement. <br />Mayor Benson noted that one landowner wanted the boulevard sodded <br />rather than seeded. Mr. Stahlberg said he this could be done, <br />however, the cost of the sod would be included in his assessment. <br />Mr. Marier moved to approve Resolution No. 39 - 87 and asked that the <br />Council be informed of the actual costs. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 39 - 87 <br />RESOLUTION DECLARING COST TO BE ASSESSED AND ORDERING PREPARATION OF <br />PROPOSED ASSESSMENT FOR CERTAIN RESIDENTS ON ASH STREET (EXTENSION OF <br />SHOREVIEW UTILITIES) <br />WHEREAS, costs have been determined for the extension of municipal <br />water and sanitary sewer for certain residents on Ash Street <br />described as 155 Ash Street, 165 Ash Street, 175 Ash Street, <br />185 Ash Street, 205 Ash Street, 225 Ash Street, 245 Ash <br />Street and 255 Ash Street, and total expenses incurred in <br />the making of such improvement amount to $104,600.00. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LINO LAKES, <br />MINNESOTA: <br />1. The portion of the cost of such improvement to be paid by the <br />City is hereby declared to be zero and the portion of the cost <br />to be assessed against benefited property owners is declared <br />to be $104,600.00. <br />2. Assessments shall be payable in equal annual installments ex- <br />tending over a period of fifteen years, the first installment <br />to be payable on or before the first Monday in January, 1988, <br />and shall bear interest at the rate of nine (9) per cent per <br />PAGE 8 <br />
