He may at any time <br />thereafter, pay to the City Clerk the entire amount <br />of the assessment remaining unpaid, with interest <br />accrued to December 31 of the year in which such pay- <br />ment is made. Anderson, Clerk- Treasurer <br />Centennial Fire District Amendments to By -Laws - This item <br />is just for the information of the Council. The Centennial <br />Fire Commission has passed Amendment #1 to the By -Laws of <br />the Centennial Fire District and the Amendment concerns <br />terms of office for officers. <br />John Miller's Memorandum Designating a Builders Meeting - <br />Mr. Schumacher reviewed Mr. Miller's memorandum. The <br />Council determined the date for the Builders Meeting to be <br />March 24, 1988. <br />League Legislative Update - Mayor Benson brought forward to <br />the Council several items that were addressed at this <br />meeting. <br />Mayor Benson said he felt the underlying feeling at this <br />conference was that municipalities must stay within their <br />budget but the state does not. <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that Rice Creek Watershed District <br />has designated $3,600 to clean out the ditch running from <br />Centerville's Center Oaks into Lino Lakes across LaMotte <br />Drive. This will eliminate a potential flooding problem. <br />Mr. Volk will contract this work to be completed. In <br />addition, a new plat is being considered in Lino Lakes in <br />this immediate area. RCWD may require this ditch project to <br />be completed before they will issue a permit for this new <br />subdivision. Mr. Schumacher also noted that the residents <br />in the LaMotte Drive area may oppose the new subdivision <br />because of the potential for flooding. They are talking <br />about requiring a holding pond so that sediment does not <br />flow directly into the lake. He also noted that there is a <br />low area.that could be used for a holding pond.
