.Council Member introduced the following resolution <br />0 • <br />and moved its. adoption: <br />• <br />• <br />. •• <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 04 - 03 <br />• RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATIONS FROM AREA BUSINESSES TO FUND <br />INITIAL EXPENSES IN ESTABLISHING A CANINE PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, a police dog provides protection for officers and the <br />public; and <br />WHEREAS, a police dog can be used in search and apprehension <br />work for intruders, prowlers, escapees, burglars, etc. <br />and to use in track work to locate missing persons; and <br />WHEREAS, a police dog can be used to assist in restoring peace <br />and order at riots, major disturbances, crime scenes, <br />accident scenes, etc.; and <br />WHEREAS, a police dog can be used in the detection of controlled <br />substances/explosive devices, <br />110 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT-RESOLVED, the Lino Lakes City Council <br />members, do hereby accept the $$22,375.00 in donations to <br />establish a Lino Lakes Police Department canine program and <br />wishes t!o_express its gratitude to the •usiness community for <br />their donations. <br />• <br />Ann BWir, City Clerk <br />e <br />Mayor <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 12th day of January, <br />2004. <br />• - ■ <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Council Member and upon vote being <br />taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />The following voted against same: <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
