• <br />AGENDA ITEM 7B <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Mary Alice Divine <br />DATE: 1/12/04 <br />TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution No. 04 -05 Approving the <br />Classification of Tax Forfeit Properties with notice to <br />obtain the properties <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Two parcels of property in Lino Lakes have forfeited to the State of Minnesota <br />because of delinquent property taxes. If the parcels are not repurchased within <br />six months, the City can choose to obtain title to them for public use. <br />The Anoka County Land Commissioner has asked the City Council to approve <br />the classification of two parcels (see map): <br />Lot 13, Block 7 Lakes Addition No. 3 <br />Lot 14, Block 7 Lakes Addition No. 3 <br />Both of these parcels are serving as storm water ponds. Staff is recommending <br />the city obtain both parcels. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Adopt Resolution No. 04 -05 Approving the Classification of Tax Forfeit <br />Properties with notice to obtain the properties. <br />2. Do not adopt the resolution, allowing the parcels to be purchased at public <br />auction when the repurchase period expires. <br />3. Return to staff for further consideration. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option 1 <br />
