Studenski, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: March 22, 2004 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 04 - 40, Approving Plans and Specifications and <br />Authorizing Advertisement for Bids, 2004 Wearing Course <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City undertakes a paving project each year to place the final layer of bituminous, <br />known as the wearing course, in those developments where the majority of the Tots <br />have been built on. The funding for this work is provided by assessments to the <br />respective subdivisions. <br />The subdivisions receiving wearing course this year include the final portion of <br />Clearwater Creek 3rd Addition and Clearwater Creek 5th Addition. The estimated total <br />project cost is $78,000.00. <br />City staff has prepared the plans and specifications for this work and are requesting <br />Council approval to advertise for bids. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Return to staff for further review. <br />2. Adopt Resolution Number 04 - 40 approving the plans and specifications and <br />authorizing advertisement for bids for the 2004 Wearing Course. <br />3. Not adopt Resolution Number 04 - 40. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 2 - Staff recommends that Resolution Number 04 - 40 be adopted. <br />
