Studenski, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: May 10, 2004 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 04 -62, Authorizing Acquisition of Right -of- <br />Way /Easements, 62 "d Street Reconstruction Project <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Due to the continued development and growth of the area increasing the traffic <br />and the deteriorating condition of 62nd Street between Ware Road and Red <br />Maple Lane, the City Council approved and awarded a construction contract for <br />the 62 "d Street Reconstruction project. As part of this project, acquisition of <br />additional right -of -way and drainage /utility easements is necessary for the <br />completion of the street and storm sewer construction. <br />City Staff is requesting authorization for payment of acquisition up to and equal <br />to the amount detailed in the attached appraisal dated April 30, 2004 for a total <br />amount of $99,625.00. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Adopt Resolution 04 -62, Authorizing Acquisition of Right -of -Way /Easements, <br />62"d Street Reconstruction Project. <br />2. Not Adopt Resolution No. 04 -62. <br />3. Return to staff for further review. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 1 - Staff recommends that Resolution No. 04 -62 be adopted. <br />• <br />
