• <br />• <br />City Council <br />CSAH 14 <br />July 12, 2004 <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 04 -100 <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY 14 <br />I -35W TO I -35E ALTERNATIVE ANALYSIS STUDY <br />WHEREAS, the continued growth of the county and surrounding area is leading <br />to increasing travel demand along the County State Aid Highway 14 corridor which, if <br />unmanaged, can negatively affect the level of performance, safety, and congestion <br />experienced by users of the corridor; and, <br />WHEREAS, community leaders, motorists, and road authorities have identified <br />this growing travel demand and development pressure as a concern with potential <br />negative consequences for mobility and safety in the corridor, with the potential to <br />degrade the performance level now provided by the corridor, and the resulting <br />implications for the economy and quality of life of the region; and, <br />WHEREAS, Anoka County, with the support of the Cities of Lino Lakes and <br />Centerville, solicited for and will receive federal funds for the reconstruction of CSAH 14 <br />from I -35W to I -35E in 2006 and said construction project is identified in the 2004 -2008 <br />Five Year Highway Improvement Plan as approved by the Anoka County Board of <br />Commissioners; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Cities of Lino Lakes and Centerville and Anoka County, as the <br />first step of the project development phase of the County State Aid Highway 14 <br />reconstruction project, have completed an alternative analysis study to evaluate design <br />concepts and look at the long -term role that the County State Aid Highway 14 corridor <br />will play in meeting the transportation needs of the county; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Lino Lakes City Council <br />endorses the recommendations of the County State Aid Highway 14 Study, Alternatives <br />Analysis Report. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lino Lakes City Council is committed to <br />working in partnership with the City of Centerville and Anoka County in order to <br />implement the recommendations of the County State Aid Highway 14 Study, <br />Alternatives Analysis Report. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 12th day of July, 2004. <br />• JohriJ.
