AGENDA ITEM 1D <br />STAFF ORIGNINATOR: Jean Viger, Deputy Clerk <br />MEETING DATE: August 9, 2004 <br />TOPIC: Resolution 04 -112, Approving Special Event <br />Permit, 3.2 Percent Malt Liquor (Beer) License <br />and Cabaret License for Sandburr Days <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority (3/5 Vote) <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Sandburr Days is an annual event sponsored by the Circle -Lex Lions Club and held at <br />Sunrise Park. This year Sandburr Days will be held on September 10 -12. This event <br />requires a Special Event Permit, a 3.2 Percent Malt Liquor (Beer) License and a Cabaret <br />License. <br />The Special Event Permit application, along with the certificate of general liability <br />insurance, has been submitted and approved by appropriate staff. The application for the <br />3.2 malt liquor license is complete and is accompanied by a certificate of insurance for <br />liquor liability naming the city as additional insured. The Cabaret License is also <br />complete. This license is required to regulate entertainment where on -sale beer is being <br />served. All necessary fees have also been paid. <br />The applications and a copy of the insurance certificates are on file in the City Clerk's <br />office. <br />OPTIONS:.. <br />1 Adopt Motion to Approve Resolution 04 -112 <br />2 Deny Resolution 04 -112 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 1 <br />
