• <br />• <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 04 -115 <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING ANOKA COUNTY WITHHOLD FROM SALE <br />CERTAIN TAX FORFEITED PROPERTY AND TO MAKE APPLICATION TO <br />THE STATE OF MINNESOTA TO ACQUIRE THE PROPERTY <br />WHEREAS, a parcel within the City of Lino Lakes (the "City ") listed as Outlot F, D. <br />Erickson 2nd Addition (PIN 28- 31 -22 -42 -0093) (the "Parcel ") is land forfeited to the State <br />of Minnesota pursuant to Chapter 282 of the Minnesota Statutes; and <br />WHEREAS, the Parcel is strategically placed within the City's water system to provide a <br />critical loop within the system; and <br />WHEREAS, the demand for water within the City is reaching a level that could endanger <br />the City's fire protection capabilities if additional wells are not added; and <br />WHEREAS, the Parcel has a good location geologically and is close to an additional City <br />well to enable the construction of a treatment system capable of treating both wells; and <br />WHEREAS, the addition of a well on the Parcel will help to provide an adequate, safe <br />water supply to the City. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: <br />1. Staff is authorized and directed to notify the Anoka County Land Commissioner <br />that the City seeks to acquire the Parcel and request that Anoka County process <br />the application to the State to obtain the Parcel for public purposes. <br />Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 9th day of August, 2004. <br />Blair, City Clerk <br />
