Studenski, City Engineer COUNCIL MEETING DATE: October 25, 2004 TOPIC: Resolution No. 04 -152, Approving Change Order No. 1 and Payment Request No. 2, Holly Drive Improvements Project VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required BACKGROUND: At the July 26, 2004 meeting, City Council awarded the Holly Drive Improvements contract to W.B. Miller in the amount of $824,186.70. The Change Order addresses the installation of an additional watermain loop between Cassiopea Court and Cripple Creek Pass, as requested by Public Works. This additional main will assist in providing improved circulation and pressure for the water system in this portion of the City, particularly as further future development occurs. This results in an additional cost of $59,899.61, and essentially includes the installation of over 1,330 feet of 8 -inch diameter pipe, connections, valves, fittings, and any restoration not already included within the Holly Drive contract. A complete breakdown is spelled out in the attached Change Order. It is staffs recommendations to approve Change Order No. 1, which results in a total project cost of $884,086.31 and authorize Payment No. 2 in the amount of $304,127.09. OPTIONS: 1. Return to staff for further review. 2. Adopt Resolution Number 04 -152, approving Change Order No.1 and Payment Request No. 2 for the Holly Drive Improvements Project. 3. Not adopt Resolution No. 04 -152. RECOMMENDATION: Option No. 2 - Staff recommends adoption of Resolution Number 04 -152.
