227 <br />COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 12, 1988 <br />payment, to the City Treasurer, except that no interest <br />shall be charged if the entire assessment is paid with- <br />in thirty (30) days from the adoption of this resolu- <br />tion; and he may, at any time thereafter, pay to the <br />City Treasurer the entire amount of the assessment <br />remaining unpaid, with interest accrued to December 31 <br />of the year in which such payment is made. Such pay- <br />ment must be made before October 15, or interest will <br />be charged through December 31 of the next succeeding <br />year. <br />4. The Clerk shall forthwith transmit a certified dupli- <br />cate of this assessment to the County Auditor to be <br />extended on the property tax lists of the County. Benson, Mayor <br />ASSESSMENT PUBLIC HEARING FOR RESHANAU LAKE ESTATES SOUTH, <br />1ST ADDITION - RESOLUTION NO. 72 - 88 <br />Mayor Benson opened the public hearing at 8:17 P.M. <br />Mr. Stahlberg used the overhead projector to explain the <br />costs of the improvement and how the assessment was <br />prepared. <br />Mr. Gary Uhde, developer of Reshanau Lake Estates South, 1st <br />Addition explained to the Council that he did not object to <br />the assessment. However, his title company has not held in <br />escrow the amount needed to cover the assessment on eighteen <br />of the thirty eight lots that have already been sold. He <br />asked if the difference could be placed on the 2nd Addition <br />of Reshanau Lake Estates South. <br />Mr. Hawkins said he did not like to see the Council consider <br />such a request. He felt each improvement should bear its <br />own costs. Mr. Uhde said an alternate plan could be the <br />balance of the assessment from the eighteen lots could be <br />PAGE 264 <br />
