10 <br />('1) No sign shall be painted on, attached to or affixed to any trees, rocks or other similar organic <br />or inorganic natural matter. <br />(5) Signs in windows in the interior of buildings are allowed without permits except that <br />dynamic display signs including flashing signs are not allowed in windows, regardless of size. No signs <br />Shall be attached to the exterior of windows. <br />(7) "No hunting" and "No trespassing" signs are allowed as regulated by M.S. § 97B.001, as it <br />(8)— <br />(9) Illuminated signs are allowed only in Neighborhood Business, Limited Business, General <br />Business, Light Industrial and General Industrial zoning districts. Illuminated signs also are allowed in a <br />planned unit development when the illuminated signs comply with the requirements of this chapter and <br />0'� <br />(11) The source of light for any sign must be indirect or diffused and shall not be directed into <br />any adjoining residential district. <br />(12) <br />(13) Signs shall not be painted directly to any exterior building surface, but shall be on a separate <br />frame except for temporary display windows. Sign letters/symbols may be directly attached to a wall by <br />adhesive or mechanical fasteners. <br />(14) Any sign, signal, marking or device which purports to be or is an imitation of or resembles <br />any official traffic control device or railroad sign or signal, or emergency vehicle signal, or which <br />attempts to direct the movement of traffic or which hides from view or interferes with the effectiveness <br />of any official traffic control device or railroad sign or signal shall be prohibited. Further, no sign shall <br />be installed, which by reason of position, shape or color would conflict with proper function or <br />• <br />(15) There shall be no use of revolving beacons, flashing signs, zip flashers or similar lighted <br />devices. <br />(16)— <br />(17) No sign shall be permitted to obstruct any door, fire escape, stairway or other access of any <br />building or structure. <br />(18) Signs in election years. In state general election years, the provisions of M.S. ' 211B.0115, as <br />amended, shall apply. Notwithstanding other provisions of this chapter regulating the allowed size or <br />election. Other requirements of this chapter, including those regarding the location of signs, shall <br />continue to apply. <br />(19) Temporary signs may be erected in compliance with the requirements of the temporary sign <br />table and this section. <br />(20) Directional signs up to four square feet are allowed up to ten feet above grade provided they <br />are not erected adjacent to any residential streets. <br />
