COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 24, 1989 <br />Mr. Hawkins explained that he had contacted the Centennial <br />Bank, and Hugo Bank for bids on this issue. He went on to <br />state that they were both recently purchased by the same <br />company, and are now nearly one -and- the -same. Mr. Schumacher <br />explained that this issuance is for large equipment, <br />primarily a front end loader, squad car etc. <br />Mr. Hawkins stated that it is just as efficient and cost <br />effective to collect bids from local banks. He was able to <br />get a rate of 7.65 %. He felt this was quite reasonable and <br />recommended approval. Mr. Schumacher concurred. Mr. <br />Reinert introduced a motion to adopt Resolution 29 -89. Mr. <br />Bisel seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />NEW BUSINESS - SETTING A WORK SESSION FOR MAY 2, 1989 AT 4:00 <br />P.M. TO DISCUSS RECYCLING GOALS <br />Mr. Reinert moved to approve this date for the recycling <br />work session. Mr. Bohjanen seconded the motion. Motion was <br />approve unanimously. Mayor Benson instructed the City <br />Administrator to send out notices the Friday prior to this <br />date. <br />POPPY DAY PROCLAMATION <br />Mayor Benson read aloud a proclamation in support of the VFW <br />Buddy Poppy. Mr. Bohjanen moved to accept the proclamation. <br />The motion was seconded by Mr. Reinert. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mr. Bisel moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:10 P.M. Mr. <br />Reinert seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />1 <br />
