COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 13, 1990 <br />Request from VFW for Dance Permit - Mrs. Anderson read a <br />letter from VFW Commander Lyle Carpenter regarding a request <br />for a parking lot dance. Council Member Neal moved to <br />approve the outside dance permit providing that the band be <br />moved inside the VFW at 10:00 P.M. Council Member Bohjanen <br />seconded the motion. Council Member Reinert noted that the <br />Council just denied a similar permit for the 49 Club and felt <br />that approving this request would be discriminatory. On a <br />roll call vote Council Members Neal, Kuether and Bohjanen and <br />Mayor Bisel voted aye. Council Member Reinert voted nay. <br />Motion carried. Council Member Reinert explained that he <br />felt that it was unfair to approve one request and deny <br />another. <br />Mayor Bisel moved to reconsider the vote regarding the 49 <br />Club request for a parking lot dance permit. Council Member <br />Reinert seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Council Member Reinert moved to treat the 49 Club as the VFW <br />was treated and approve a parking lot dance permit from 6:00 <br />P.M. to 10:00 P.M. Council Member Bohjanen seconded the <br />motion. On a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br />Consideration and Award of Bids for Tree Spade, Don Volk -Mr. <br />Volk explained that there were three bidders and recommended <br />that the low bid from Vermeer Sales and Service of Burnsville <br />be accepted. Funding is available from the tree <br />restitution /restoration money in the West Central Trunk <br />Improvement Construction Fund. <br />Council Member Neal moved to approve Mr. Volk's <br />recommendation. Council Member Bohjanen seconded the motion. <br />On a roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Council Member Neal asked <br />contract. Mr. Schumacher <br />Centerville on Friday and <br />the information for their <br />about the Centerville Police <br />explained that he had talked to <br />noted that Centerville will have <br />budget meeting on August 20, 1990 <br />Mr. Schumacher noted that the Centennial Fire District <br />Steering Committee will meet on August 23, 1990 and will <br />discuss the current Fire Chief. <br />Mr. Schumacher introduced Mr. Jim Baker to the Council. Mr. <br />Baker is assisting the Building Inspector. <br />Council Member Reinert moved to adjourn at 11:18 P.M. <br />Council Member Kuether seconded the motion.
