COUNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY 27, 1989 <br />Arlene Averbeck, 7855 Lake Drive is a former P & Z Membex <br />seeking reappointment to the Board. She had spoken to the <br />Council at the January 9, 1989 Council meeting. <br />Michael Broker, 8373 Lake Drive was not in attendance this <br />evening. <br />Sally Kuether, 7064 Rice Lake Lane gave the Council a brief <br />statement regarding her background in reale state, time of <br />residency and reasons for applying for a position on the,P & <br />Z Board. She felt that she would not have a problem <br />attending all meetings and the training sessions. She noted <br />that she is the current president of the Chamber of Commerce <br />and a member of the Charter Commission. Ms. Kuether also <br />told the Council that if a matter came before the P & Z Board <br />which presented a conflict of interest, she would abstain <br />from voting. She said she felt a need for coordination <br />between the P & Z Board and the Economic Development <br />Committee and business growth is a large concern for her. <br />Another concern expressed was for a well balanced mix of <br />housing levels. <br />Robert King, 198 Marvy Street gave the Council a brief <br />outline on his background and noted that he worked with the <br />Roseville J C's. He felt the major issue facing Lino Lakes <br />is the rapid growth and wanted a good balance between <br />commercial and residential growth. He also expressed a need <br />for a good balance between lower lever and higher level <br />income housing. <br />Mayor Benson asked him how the expansion of utilities should <br />be handled. Mr. King said it should be well planned and the <br />current residents should not be adversely affected. <br />Alan Twardowski, 630 Andall Street explained he has been a <br />resident for six years and gave a brief outline of his <br />background. He has seen the start of both residential and <br />business development and would like to see this continue in a <br />well balanced order between housing and residential as well <br />as between lower and higher end income housing. He noted <br />that the expansion of utilities is needed and noted that a <br />few of his neighbors are having difficulties with the current <br />septic systems. He expressed the need for an updated <br />Comprehensive Plan for the City. <br />Alan Robinson, 8299 - 4th Avenue was unable to attend this <br />evening. Mr. Neal noted that Mr. Robinson is very interested <br />in the position, he is a life long resident and businessman <br />in this City and well acquainted with the issues currently <br />under consideration. <br />-Steven Bailey, 1990 Birch Street gave a brief background <br />statement -to the Council.
