There
was a discussion regarding what colors would be most appropriate
for Lino Lakes. There was also discussion regarding whether the
facility should be painted all one color or whether the base
should be one color and the tank another color. Mr. Schneider
explained that the facility would be coated with a cathodic
coating so that there will be no rust to interfere with the
painting.
Mr. Tesch explained that the staff has reviewed the options
available and are recommending that the color system be nearly
the same as the city letterhead. The water facility would be
painted beige and the lettering would be the same red as the city
logo.
Each Council Member expressed their preference. Mr. Schneider
explained that sky blue or light beige were probably the best
options. He noted that sky blue blends in with the horizon best,
however beige is more prominent. Since the water storage
facility is at the entrance to the city and is intended to be a
marker or monument, it would be best to paint the facility beige
with red lettering as suggested by staff.
The consensus of the Council was to approve the recommendation of
the staff. Mr. Schneider explained that the facility will need
to be repainted in about 15 years on the inside and about 7 years
PAGE 1
232
