July 22, 1974
He reported that at the present time, the City employees are paid once a
month and since this is the only job for most of the employees, it get
to be a long time between pay days. He would suggest a semi - monthly pay
period be set up begining August 1, 1974. After some discussion, Mr. Marier
so moved. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried.
Mr. Jaworski will study the truck bids and report later in the meeting.
Mr. Marier reported on the Planning and Zoning Board meeting of July 17, 1974.
Mr. Prokop had attended in connection with the installation of a street in
the Otter Lake Hills area. This seems to be a problem in that two of the property
owners want the street and one does not. They were informed that this is not
a City problem - the land owners should get together and settle their differences
and then return to the board.
Suburban Engineering had been scheduled but had failed to appear. They will have
to be rescheduled for consideration of an access to the tvn house units in
Country Lakes.
Mr. Perry Malvin appeared seeking a variance to Ordinance 21A for the use of
land with less than 21 acres. After consideration, the Boardrecommended approval
of the variance provided all papers were in order by this Council meeting. Mr.
Malvin had delivered all necessary papers to the Clerk's office on this date and
they are in order. Mr. Marier moved to approve the request. Seconded by Mr.
Jaworski. Motion carried.
The Planning and Zoning Board was concerned over the small trees in front
of the Council chambers. They are too close to the building and in a few
years will have to be moved. It was suggensted that they be moved this year
while they are still small enough. The Park Board will take care of this.
The Board also requested that a letter be written to the County Surveyor's
Office requesting that the surveying to be done in Lino Lakes be started and
ask for a completion date. It was suggested that this work should be started
within the next two months. Mr. Marier so moved. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion
carried.
The Planning And Zoning Board questioned the house trailer still parked at the
address on Hodgson Road. The removal of this unit had been requested five
months ago. Mr. Marier asked if anything can be done about this.
Mr. Locher said he had consulted with the Police Department on this problem.
They will take a new set of photographs, make a written complaint and this man
will be prosecuted.
Mr. McLean reported on the regular meeting of the Park Board held on July 15,
1974. The Board had recommended to the Council that the Civil Defense be allowed
to conduct gun training at the Sunrise Park warming house.
Classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday during the month of August. There
would be no range practice. Mr. Cape, C.D. Director, is qualified for this
instruction. Mr. McLean moved to approve this recommendation. Seconded by Mr.
Marier. Motion carried.
1
1
1
