1 <br />1 <br />JUNE 23, 1975 <br />Ballroom. Mr. Locher found one signature missing. Mr. McLean moved <br />to approve the applications with the stipulation that the missing signature <br />be inserted. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried. <br />There was no old business from the floor. Under new business, Chief <br />Myhre reported that he had received 21 calls concerning stray dogs within <br />the past month. He asked if he could authorize MAPSI for patrol duty <br />at least three hours per week in order to_ slow this down. There will be a <br />cage here at the Hall for holding dogs picked up by the police. Chief Myhre <br />said that since this orginazation patrols Blaine it is possible to co- ordinate <br />the patrolling. He would contact them and set this up as to the time and <br />the areas to be patrolled. Mr. Zelinka moved to authorize Chief Myhre to <br />use MAPSI for a mazimum of ten hours until the next Council meeting on <br />July 14, 1975. Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried. <br />After some discussion, Mr. Zelinka moved to approve requisitions #578 <br />through and including #582. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Volk had submitted a schedule of mileage for use of his private car <br />while on City business. There was discussion of this matter with Mr. <br />Volk feeling that the City vehicle is unsafe. There has been replacement <br />of the tires and he had authorized the Park Department to use the vehicle. <br />Mr . McLean requested Mr. Hagen, City Mechanic, to evaluate the vehicle <br />and to report back to the Council on July 14, 1975, as to the condition <br />of the vehicle and what is necessary to bring it up to a safe condition. <br />Mr. Volk said that the teen -agers who are working under the Summer Youth <br />Programs have been picked up at their _homes for work. The Council ins- <br />tructed Mr. Volk that this procedure is to cease. The youths will have <br />to find their own transportation. <br />Mr. Marier said that in order to be paid mileage for use of a private <br />vehicle the owner must have authorization for that use. Mr. Volk_. was <br />asked if had obtained that authorization and he said no. <br />Mr. Zelinka was concerned that City equipment does not last as long as <br />industrial equipmentL. Mr. Hagen said that some of the equipment was <br />pretty well used when purchased by this City. <br />Mr. Marier moved to cancel the mileage voucher. Seconded by Mr. McLean. <br />Mtion carried with Mr. Zelinka abstaining. <br />After some discussion of the financial position of the City and the <br />fact that the State Aid payment had not been received as expected, Mr. <br />McLean moved to approve the payroll authorizing the Clerk to arrange <br />for $3,600.00 in warrants to cover these checks and the outstanding <br />bills. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion carried. Payroll checks #3004 <br />through and including #3029. Outstanding bills are covered by checks <br />#6467 through and including #6471. <br />Mr. Marier moved to adjourn at 11:00 P.M. Seconded by Mr. McLean.
