252
NOVEMBER 10, 1975
Mayor Bohjanen said this is not the only rumor that has been circulating
these past few weeks. Mayor Bohjanen said the County had been contacted
for their cost figures for consideration during the hearing with the Police
Union representatives and their proposed contract.
Mr. Ringaman asked if there would be a hearing if the Council decided to
consider the County for Police Coverage and Mayor Bohjanen said, Yes.
Mr. Jaworski asked if the County had been contacted for just the figures,
why had a contract also been .;mailed Mayor Bohjanen said the contract
was mailed by the Sheriff's office.
A gentleman from the audience said this is of great concern to all
citizens with the moving in of the hard core criminals at the Treatment
Center.
Mr. Ringaman asked if that facility is State run? does the City have any
say in what ahppens there?
Mayor Bohjanen said this is a State owner and operated facility.
Mr. Ringaman asked, that with the additional prisoners to be housed there,
does the City receive any additional aid from the State for additional
time spent there?
Mayor Bohjanen said the City is paid for actual hours spent assisting
the State.
Mr. Jaworski asked if the bill for the services of the Lino Lakes Police
Department had been submitted and the Clerk said, Yes. He asked how much
per hour had been charged. The Clerk said $6.87 per hour for man and car.
She had asked Chief Myhre and this was the cost figure he had given her.
The Council felt this was too low. Chief Myhre said that he had used the
overall amount spent by the Department and divided by the man hours and
this is the cost figure he arrived at. Mr. Zelinka reminded Mr. Jaworski
these figures are computed on a part -time Police Department and not since
the Department has been full -time.
Mr. Jaworski moved to approve Checks No. 6705 through and including No. 6732.
Seconded by Mr. Marier. Motion carried.
Mr. Jaworski moved to approve Payroll Shecks No. 3215 through and including
No. 3248, with No.'s 3234 and 3235 bening void.
