• <br />• <br />CONSENT AGENDA ITEM 1 C <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Al Rolek <br />MEETING DATE: January 13, 2003 <br />TOPIC: Resolution 03- 07,Resolution Amending and Restating the <br />City of Lino Lakes Health Care and Dependent Day Care <br />Expense Reimbursement Plan (the "Plan') <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority (3/5 Vote) <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City maintains a flexible spending accounts plan through which employees may <br />elect to pay for medical and daycare expenses using pre -tax income. From time to time <br />it is necessary to update our plan documents to comply with and incorporate new <br />regulations. It is recommended that the city's Health Care and Dependent Day Care <br />Expense Reimbursement Plan be amended to incorporate changes that have occurred <br />since the last plan document update in 2001. <br />The following resolution incorporates four changes to the current plan document. They <br />are: <br />1. Incorporate the final COBRA Regulations issued January 1, 2001; <br />2. Incorporate the final FMLA Regulations issued October 17, 2001; <br />3. Update Claims Appeal Process issued July 1, 2002; and <br />4. The Plan Name shall be changed to the City of Lino Lakes Flexible Spending <br />Accounts Plan <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve Resolution 03 -07 <br />2. Deny Resolution 03 -07 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option 1 <br />
