Studenski, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: May 12, 2003 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 03 -67, Authorizing Acquisition of Right -of- <br />Way /Easements, EIm Street Reconstruction Project <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Due to the deteriorating condition of Elm Street between Sunset Road and Grey <br />Heron Drive, the City Council authorized the preparation of plans and <br />specifications for the EIm Street Reconstruction project. As part of this project, <br />acquisition of additional right -of -way and drainage /utility easements is necessary <br />for the completion of the street and storm sewer construction. <br />City Staff is requesting authorization for payment of acquisition up to and equal <br />to the amount detailed in the attached appraisal dated April 22, 2003 for a total <br />amount of $153,415.00. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Adopt Resolution 03 -67, Authorizing Acquisition of Right -of -Way /Easements, <br />EIm Street Reconstruction Project. <br />2. Not Adopt Resolution No. 03 -67. <br />3. Return to staff for further review. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 1 - Staff recommends that Resolution No. 03 -67 be adopted. <br />
