Studenski, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: June 9, 2003 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 03 -81, Approving Plans and Specifications and <br />Authorizing Advertisement for Bids for the Twilight Acres <br />Watermain Improvement Project <br />VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The plans and specifications for the watermain extension portion of this project <br />were ordered by the City Council on May 12, 2003. Preparation of the plans is <br />substantially complete. City staff has prepared the plans and specifications for <br />this work and is requesting Council approval to advertise for bids. The project <br />schedule is as follows: <br />June 9, 2003 <br />July 7, 2003 <br />July 14, 2003 <br />November 2003 <br />Approve Plans and Authorize Advertisement for Bids <br />Open Bids <br />Consider Award of Contract <br />Substantial Completion of Construction <br />The City will fund this project with trunk funds and all costs will be recovered <br />through connection charges upon resident connection requests. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Return to staff for further review. <br />2. Adopt Resolution Number 03 -81, approving plans and specifications and <br />authorizing advertisement for bids for Twilight Acres Watermain Improvement <br />Project. <br />3. Not adopt Resolution Number 03 -81. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 2 - Staff recommends that Resolution No. 03 -81 be adopted. <br />
