Studenski, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: June 9, 2003 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 03 -82, Receive Quotes and Award Contract, Ditch /Pond <br />Cleaning Restoration Project <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Quotes were received and publicly opened on June 3, 2003. The results of the quotes <br />are presented below. City Council action is required to award a contract to the lowest <br />responsible bidder. <br />Contractor Amount of Bid <br />Arnt~Constru o ©mp n . inc. 7,244 Q <br />ij erlr, <br />Engineer's Estimate <br />Attached is a copy of the submitted quote. <br />$18,700.00 <br />This project will perform the necessary restoration work as part of the Surface Water <br />Management Projects. Additional excavation quantities did not allow for the restoration <br />to be completed as part of the original project. The funding for this work is provided by <br />the Surface Water Management Fund. This fund was established in 1992 as a revenue <br />source in order to meet the "administrative, planning, ponding, mitigation, and water <br />quality needs" of the City. It is, reimbursed through assessments to new subdivisions <br />and is also collected as property owners connect to City utilities. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Return to staff for further review. <br />2. Adopt Resolution Number 03 -82, accepting quotes and awarding a contract to i4 ..t� <br />Constru ti`or Cornpan ?, for the Ditch /Pond Cleaning Restoration project. <br />3. Not adopt Resolution No. 03 -82. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No. 2 - Staff recommends adoption of Resolution Number 03 -82. <br />
