Studenski, City Engineer <br />COUNCIL MEETING DATE: July 14, 2003 <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 03 -98, Accepting Bids and Awarding Construction <br />Contract, Elm Street Reconstruction <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Sealed bids were received and publicly opened at 10:00 a.m. on June 3, 2003. The <br />results of the bid opening are presented below. City Council action is required to award <br />a construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder. <br />Contractor <br />F.M. A copy of <br />the complete bid tabulation is attached. This 3% overage falls within the 10% <br />contingency budgeted for the project. <br />The substantial completion date for this project is November 15, 2003, with a final <br />completion date of June 6, 2004. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Return to staff for further review. <br />2. Adopt Resolution Number 03 -98, Accepting Bids and Awarding a Construction <br />Contract to F.M. Frattalone for the Elm Street Reconstruction project. <br />Not adopt Resolution No. 03 -98. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Option No 2 - Staff recommends adoption of Resolution Number 03 -98. <br />
