1 <br />1 <br />December 11, 1978 195 <br />The Council asked that Mr, Locher inform Mr. Kirschbaum that he could <br />bid in at the next opening. Mr. Locher had contacted Mr. Weisenberger <br />at the Union and had cleared this action with that organization. <br />Mr. Zelinka asked if any follow up had been done on a letter from Mrs. <br />Robert Kohl of County Road J and was told, No. The Clerk was instructed <br />to write to Mrs. Kohl and i -form her that the letter had been received <br />and discussed. At the present time no action has been taken. <br />Mr. Zelinka wondered if a check protector would save anu time in the <br />preparation of the checks. There was some discussion on this with the <br />Clerk saying that she felt a postage meter was needed more. She was <br />asked to present information on this matter. <br />Mr. McLean asked Mr. Mobley to check the distance on the sign being <br />painted on the silo on the corner of Cedar and County Road #84. He <br />felt it was too close to another sign. <br />There was discussion on the requisition #866, for the calibration of <br />the old radar. This had been held because the Council felt that since <br />the Police Department will be receiving a new unti, why have this one <br />repaired. Chief Myhre said the new one cannot replace an existing unit, <br />it must ba an addition to the department. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to approve requisitions #866, 873 through and in- <br />cluding #880, holding #878. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion declared <br />passed. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to approve Checks #9284 through and including #9321. <br />Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion declared passed. <br />Mr. Zelinka moved to adjourn at 10:55 P.M. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Aye. <br />These minutes were corrected and approved at the January 8, 1979 <br />regular Council meeting. <br />Edna L. Sarner, Clerk- Treasure <br />December 14, 1978 <br />Mayor Karth called the special meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council <br />to order at 7:40 P.M. on December 14, 1978. Council members present; <br />Kulaszewicz, McLean, Schneider. Absent; Zelinka. Members of the Rice <br />Creek Watershed Board present; Mr. Goyer, Hamilton, Dimke and Cardinal. <br />Mr. Weidenbacher, their Engineer, was also present. <br />Mayor Karth said this meeting is the result of concern on the part of <br />the Building Inspector on the number of ponding areas being created <br />within the City of Lino Lakes as a part of the plats.. Mayor Karth <br />asked if it is not possible to utilize the County Ditches in some areas, <br />thus eliminating the need for some of the ponds. <br />Mr. Dimke suggested that perhaps this question could best be answered <br />by Mr. Weidenbacher. <br />Mr. Weidenbacher said that when development occurs in an area that 1) <br />there is an increase in the amount of water that runs off the land, and <br />
