040 <br />COUNCIL WORK SESSION MARCH 25, 1991 <br />Acting Mayor Reinert called a work session of the Lino Lakes City <br />Council to order on Monday, March 25, 1991 at 6:05 P.M. Council <br />Members present; Neal, Bohjanen. Mayor Bisel was absent. <br />Council Member Kuether arrived at 6:25 P.M. City Administrator, <br />Randy Schumacher; Planner, John Miller and Clerk- Treasurer <br />Marilyn Anderson were also present. <br />The purpose of the work session was to present an Economic <br />Development update to the Council. <br />Mr. Miller gave the Council a handout with a list of six (6) <br />Commercial /Industrial Developers who have contacted this City <br />since January 1, 1991. He also gave the Council a list of five <br />(5) Residential Builders /Developers who have contacted the City <br />after January 1, 1991. Mr. Miller explained that during the <br />third quarter of 1990, there were almost no contacts from any <br />developers. The first quarter of 1991 looks promising. <br />Mr. Miller presented an update on residential developments <br />currently started in Lino Lakes. He also listed several <br />properties where there have been inquiries regarding development. <br />The last page of the handout is the commercial /industrial update <br />listing projects currently in the planning stages and areas where <br />there have been inquiries regarding development. <br />The second handout presented by Mr. Miller outlined a proposed <br />office /warehouse building to be constructed by Doug Boe and his <br />construction management firm, Belair Builders, Inc. The building <br />is proposed to be constructed on a lot at the intersection of <br />Lilac Drive and Industrial Boulevard in the Industrial Park. Mr. <br />Miller asked the Council for input regarding finding businesses <br />who would rent or lease space from Mr. Boe. <br />Mr. Miller explained that he is working with Mr. Roger Kolstad <br />and Mr. Jack Menkveld regarding developing the Karl Behm <br />property. This development would require sanitary sewer and <br />municipal water. <br />Council Member Neal asked if anything is happening with Inside <br />Sports. Mr. Miller explained that proposals keep coming back to <br />the City and each time the proposal is more favorable to the City <br />than the one (1) before.
