1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />04/ <br />COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL UPDATE <br />1. Craig Sulzdorf: City wants land for fire station development. Sulzdorf wants <br />to build an office at Rice Lake Plaza. Trade of land discussed. Before trade <br />consummated road improvement issue and grocery store issue has to be <br />resolved. <br />2. Rice Lake Plaza: Terry Lappin to appear before the city council on March 25th <br />regarding exclusive development agreement. Appears to have grocery store. <br />3. Rehbein Land: Rice Lake partners now promoting this site. Have visited with 0 <br />all major grocers and retail anchors. Announcement possible week of March O <br />25th. <br />4. BTR Acquisitions and Emtech: Both firms will visit with tax increment attorney <br />and planner on March 29th. Negotiating purchase of land south of the <br />reformatory. Both firms are working together on land acquisition and <br />construction. <br />5. Inside Sports: Fred Dresser reports that business will want to meet with city <br />council within 30 days. Dresser states financing looks good. May not use <br />Revenue Bonds. <br />6. Ross /Carpenter: Sand, Mitchell, and Smith have made contacts with both <br />property owners. Have offered to purchase both sites. May need city help in <br />acquiring Lee's site. Proposing strip mall on Carpenter land (it's bigger), major <br />service station on Ross site (it's smaller). <br />7. Belair Builders (Boel: Proposes 20,000 square foot building at Lilac and <br />Industrial Boulevard. Needs tenants for "incubator building." Asked city to <br />help find businesses. Possible 1991 construction. See memo from planner for <br />more detail. <br />
