252
COUNCIL WORK SESSION JULY 8, 1991
Mayor Bisel called a work session of the Lino Lakes City Council
to order at 6:25 P.M., Monday, July 8, 1991. Council Members
present: Neal, Kuether, Reinert, Bohjanen. City Engineer's,
Darrell Schneider and Dan Boxrud; Director of Environment
Engineering, TKDA; Tom Kirk; Administrator, Randy Schumacher and
Clerk- Treasurer Marilyn Anderson were also present.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the proposed elevated
water storage facility for Lino Lakes.
Mr. Schneider explained that the Council has met several times
regarding this matter. A feasibility report was ordered by the
Council. This report is complete and will be presented at the
regular Council meeting this evening.
Mr. Schneider introduced Mr. Kirk to the Council. He explained
that the feasibility report shows drawings of three (3) types of
elevated water storage. He proposed that the Council select the
style that they prefer and then advertise for bids on two (2)
different sizes; a 750,000 gallon facility and a 1,000,000 gallon
facility. He also noted that the Council could take bids on two
(2) different styles as well as two (2) different sizes.
Mr. Kirk asked the Council to consider whether or not storage at
the bottom of the elevated storage facility would be a major
consideration. Alternate bids could be taken incorporating base
storage.
Community identification on the elevated storage facility was
discussed. Mr. Kirk asked the Council to consider what they
prefer to see written on the facility.
It was noted that an elevated storage unit in a neighboring city
was turning black at the bottom of the tank. Mr. Kirk explained
that the facility needed to be cleaned. This is a maintenance
problem.
Mr. Schneider told the Council item No. 9C and 9D on the regular
Council agenda will address this matter further.
The work session adjourned at 6:40 P.M.
These minutes were considered, corrected and approved at a
regular Council meeting held on July 22, 1991.
Mar/tl G. An erson,
Clerk- Treasurer
Harold L. Bisel,
Mayor
PAGE 1
