COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />MAY 3, 1995 <br />the desire to remain partners in this proposal. <br />Mr. Schumacher explained that the Planning and Zoning Board will <br />review this project at their May 10, 1995 meeting. A development <br />agreement will be prepared and the project should be before the <br />City Council for their consideration May 22, 1995. <br />Mr. Chris Lyden, 6275 Holly Drive said that he felt that there <br />was an obvious need for senior housing. He asked how does the <br />City know that this project will be a good experience for Lino <br />Lakes? Mr. Derrick said that he felt that there will be a <br />greater involvement by the City of Lino Lakes as compared to <br />other such projects. He further explained how he felt that this <br />would be a good experience for the City. <br />This project will proceed through the planning and approval <br />process as outlined by Mr. Schumacher earlier. <br />CITY ENGINEER SEARCH UPDATE, RANDY SCHUMACHER <br />Mr. Schumacher handed each Council Member a brochure from the <br />Breimeyer Group containing a schedule for the search for a new <br />City Engineer. He explained that Mr. Breimeyer was here today to <br />talk to several staff members and will talk to each Council <br />Member to get an idea of what type of a person the City is <br />looking for. <br />RECYCLING DAY, RANDY SCHUMACHER <br />This is just a reminder that Saturday May 6, 1995 is recycling <br />day in Lino Lakes. <br />ELECTIONS, PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY, MARILYN ANDERSON <br />Mrs. Anderson explained that the State Legislature is considering <br />legislation that would require a presidential primary in 1996 but <br />would not provide funding for the municipalities to conduct the <br />primary. She will keep the City Council updated on this matter. <br />REGULAR AGENDA <br />The City Council reviewed the agenda. Mr. Wessel noted that the <br />Economic Development Authority will meet at 6:00 P.M. prior to <br />the regular Council meeting. The request is to modify the TIF <br />plan for District No. 1 -4. The modification is for the Blue <br />Heron project which will be before the Planning and Zoning Board <br />on May 10, 1995. Mr. Wessel noted that TIF assistance is <br />proposed for this project and noted that they are well within the <br />guidelines for a TIF project. <br />PAGE 6 <br />
