r 11 <br />Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 01 —15 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK <br />GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE TWILIGHT ACRES PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, the residents located in Twilight Acres and Twilight Acres 2nd Addition have <br />requested City utility service, and <br />WHEREAS, the residents in the area have limited ability to replace failing wells and septic <br />systems on site due to the size of their lots, and <br />WHEREAS, the appraisal opinion for these properties shows the City will not be able to pay for <br />City utility service exclusively using assessments, and <br />WHEREAS, the City does not have an alternative funding source for providing utility service, and <br />WHEREAS, failing wells and septic systems cause significant public health concerns, and <br />WHEREAS, Community Development Block Grant funds can be used to pay for the installation of <br />utilities, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO <br />LAKES, MINNESOTA: <br />1. The Community Development Block Grant Application for the Twilight Acres sanitary <br />sewer extension is approved. <br />2. City staff is authorized to submit this application to Anoka County. <br />Adopted by the City Council this 22nd day of January, 2001. <br />John ;Obi ergeson, Mayor <br />KLW.
