• <br />Council Member Carlson introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 01 -32 <br />REQUESTING A REDUCTION OF THE SPEED LIMIT ON HODGSON ROAD (CSAH 49) <br />WHEREAS, Anoka County and the City of Lino Lakes are discussing the potential <br />reconstruction of Hodgson Road (CSAH 49) between County Road J and Lake Drive; and <br />WHEREAS, residents from Lino Lakes have expressed concern about the impact of the <br />proposed reconstruction of this roadway segment as a 50 mile per hour roadway; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes does not approve of the design options presented to date <br />and wants to develop additional safe design options, and <br />WHEREAS, it is important for both Anoka County and the City of Lino Lakes to work in <br />cooperation to develop a design that meets the objectives and goals of both the County and the <br />City; and <br />WHEREAS, a reduction in the speed limit on this segment of CSAH 49 from 50 miles per hour <br />to 45 miles per hour would allow Anoka County additional, safe roadway design flexibility to <br />respond to the City's concerns; and <br />WHEREAS, a 45 mile per hour speed limit would provide consistency within the roadway <br />corridor which extends through Shoreview and into Lino Lakes along Hodgson Road. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO <br />• LAKES, MINNESOTA: <br />1. The City of Lino Lakes requests that the posted speed limit on Hodgson Road (CSAH 49) <br />from County Road J to Lake Drive be reduced from 50 miles per hour to 45 miles per hour <br />and that 45 miles per hour be used as the design speed for the proposed re- construction of <br />this segment. <br />2.
