Council Member Dahl <br />resolution and moved its adoption: <br />introduced the following <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 01 - 48 <br />RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT 2001 MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL <br />RESOURCES CONSERVATION PARTNERS GRANT FOR BUCKTHORN CONTROL <br />WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes regards the natural resources within the City as an <br />asset and worthy of management; <br />AND WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes has invested in and developed an <br />Environmental Inventory and Management Plan to guide the City in efforts to preserve <br />and conserve the natural resources within the City; <br />AND WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes has moved to cooperate with the Department <br />of Natural Resources in the Wild Land Urban Interface Program to reclassify our <br />existing resource inventory to the Minnesota Land Cover Classification System, and to <br />expand on, and help guide our initiatives outlined in the Lino Lakes Resource <br />Management Plan; <br />AND WHEREAS, One of the goals outlined in The Lino Lakes Resource Management <br />Plan is to implement an invasive plant management program, and to educate and <br />involve residents in these efforts; <br />AND WHEREAS, The Conservation Partners Grant Program will help in these efforts to <br />implement an initial invasive plant management and education program; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: <br />1. That the City of Lino Lakes wishes to enter into agreement with the Minnesota <br />Department of Natural Resources under the Conservation Partners Grant Program <br />to implement a Buckthorn control, neighborhood involvement and education program <br />in the Birchwood Acres and Clearwater Creek Areas. <br />2. That the City of Lino Lakes will budget $4098.98 to match a Minnesota Department <br />of Natural Resources dollar amount of $8197.97 total grant cost, and of this <br />$4098.98, $2203.69 would be provided in the form of "in- kind" contribution. <br />Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 26th Day of March, 2001. <br />
