244 <br />May 4, 1977 <br />The continued hearing for consideration of utilities for the Lexington Park Lakeview <br />area was called to order at 8:05 P.M. by Mayor Bohjanen. Members present; Karth, Mc- <br />Lean, Schneider. Mr. Zelinka will be late. Mr. Locher and Mr. Carley were also pre- <br />sent. <br />Mayor Bohjanen reminded the residents this a a continued meeting for the purpose of <br />considering this petition. Mayor Bohjanen asked Mr. Locher to present the legal require- <br />ments of this effort. <br />Mr. Locher read the legal notice that had been published and mailed to all property owners <br />in the area. He also told the people present that a decision must be made by May 16, <br />1977 or the matter will be dropped. <br />Mr. Carley said that most people had been present at the January meeting and are aware <br />of the cost estimates. He also told them there are no Federal Grants available, and <br />he has no new information to present except that possibly the cost figures would be high- <br />er now then at the time presented. <br />Mayor Bohjanen said the Council members had checked the survey results that had been pre- <br />sented to them in January. From the answers on the survey, it would seem the biggest <br />objection is the cost. <br />Mr. Schneider asked about the new programs - is there a possibility of Federal Aid under <br />one of these programs? Mr. Carley said, Yes. Mr. Schneider asked about the State in- <br />terest in serving the MMTC; Mr. Carley said the interest is still there. Mr. Schneider <br />asked if the reduction in cost to the residents had been computed if this facility is <br />included and Mr. Carley said about 5 %. Mr. Schneider asked about the Blain joint water <br />project and was told it was dead. <br />Mr. Davis, Sunrise Avenue said he had not had any contact from person wanting to change <br />their position since the survey. Another lady said this would force them to sell their <br />home. <br />Mr. Zelinka arrived at 8:20 P.M. <br />Mr. Schneider noted that the cost to be assessed against the Park had not been resolved. <br />On a show of hands, approximately 95% of the people present were against the project. <br />Mr. Schneider moved to deny the petition for utilities in the Lexington Park Lakeview <br />area. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Schneider asked for permission to order the sattelites presented on the requisition <br />at the last Council meeting and was held. The Council gave oral approval. <br />Mr. Locher presented a petition to correct the spelling of three lakes: Marshan; George <br />Watch and Rondeau. Mr. Zelinka moved to petition Anoka County to correct the spelling <br />of the lakes as listed above. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. McLean moved to adjourn at 8:30 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Schneider.
