The plow does not have to <br />be purchased now. <br />Mr. Rosengren mentioned that Mr. Cameron Anderson of Northern States Power will <br />come out to look over the street lighting system; it was suggested that they look <br />over Sunrise Avenue and the end of 20th Avenue and other areas. <br />Mr. Rosengren stated that Mr. Juleen had purchased one hand pump can fire extin- <br />guisher for the car. Mr. Rosengren moved that we purchase 3 additional cans. <br />Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Rosengren mentioned that he had received much literature on various products to <br />use in the new building; Mr. Gotwald suggested that these be filed. Mr. Gotwald <br />felt it was unnecessary for Lino Lakes to subscribe to the Construction Bulletin <br />as we can place ads in it anyway and his firm has a subscription. W. Rosengren <br />stated that the committee had not set another meeting date yet but he would like <br />to see a meeting within 30 days. It was thought that this might be a slow construction <br />year and bids could be obtained. <br />Mr. L'Allier read the police report as follows: 2,385 miles driven - 262 business <br />and home checks - 12 assists to/by other departments - 9 complaints - 7 aid given <br />to motorists - 3 accidents - 3 warnings given concerning city licenses - 2 stolen <br />cars - 3 recovered stolen cars - 2 junk cars removed - 2 snowmobile complaints - <br />2 emergency messages delivered - 1 petty theft - 1 act of vandalism - 1 escapee (1 <br />hour involved). <br />Mr. Rosengren stated that he hadn't received even one complaint on snowmobiles this <br />year. It was thought that the fact that the lakes are open this year might help <br />as well as self- policing. There was some discussion on snowmobiles in general. <br />Mr. L'Allier mentioned that the Open Space Committee of the Metro Council had plans <br />for constructing a zoological garden in Anoka at the State Hospital site. Mr. <br />L'Allier offered a motion in favor of a resolution endorsing the construction of a <br />zoological garden at the Anoka State Hospital site. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. <br />Carried unanimously. Copies of this resolution will be sent to the Metro Council <br />Open Space Committee and the Anoka County Assn. of Municipalities (which has also <br />endorsed the project.), <br />Mr. Jaworski moved to adopt a resolution showing the intent of Lino Lakes to adopt <br />the proposed road program set forth by Mr. Gotwald for the elimination of all exist- <br />ing Village gravel roads in his letter of September 25, 1969 as follows: that the <br />approximately 17 miles of Village gravel roads be phased out over a 5 year period <br />at the rate of some 3.5 miles per $ear. This would not bind future councils. <br />Seconded by Mr. Cardinal. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Gotwald reported on the request by Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. to install <br />new buried cable from Hwy. 49 along Birch Street to and in 7th Avenue for the <br />Jandric project. He suggested that this follow the south edge of Birch Street to <br />Ware Road as there are existing lines on that side; and then to switch to the north <br />side of Birch up to Seventh. He recommended this construction. Mr. Bohjanen <br />moved to authorize the Clerk to sign the request by Northwestern Bell Telephone. <br />Seconded by Mr. Rosengren. Carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Gotwald stated that he had been asked to comment on the Circle Pines Comprehen- <br />sive Plan 1969. He had gone over this thoroughly with Mr. Rosengren and they found <br />nothing to object to in the plan. Mr. Jaworski asked about the proposed dam on the <br />
