If another developer asked for $150,000 could
he get it before this bond was paid off? It is not right to jeopardize the
Village this way.
Mr. L'Allier stated that we will request our expert's opinions and will not
act until we have their recommendations. Mr. L'Allier noted that Crystal
didn't know what the interest rate will be. The issue might go for 10 years.
Crystal stated then she would have to wait 10 years for a bond. Mr. L'Allier
stated no, because the full faith of the insurance company will be pledged,
not that of the Village.
Crystal wondered if this could in any boomerang. She doesn't feel that the
Jandric land is worth $100,000 and that we could bond her for that much, along
with other taxpayers, too. Mr. L'Allier asked whether there was anyone else
in the audience for whom Crystal was speaking and got no response. Crystal
stated that this was her opinion. Mr. L'Allier stated that she had made a
lot of assumptions, that the Council will do their best, that we employ experts
to handle these things.
Mr. L'Allier reported that the Deputy Clerk had submitted her resignation
effective No. 1. He thought she should be asked to stay on until the first
meeting in November and notice of the vacancy be put in the paper. Two
applications were passed around for inspection. Mr. Bohjanen thought it
might not be fair to new applicants after we had looked at these. However,
Mr. Bohjanen moved to advertize for a Deputy Clerk in the newspaper and to
have the applications submitted by the first meeting in November. Seconded
by Mr. L'Allier. Carried unanimously.
Mr. Bohjanen moved to pay the bills as audited. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal.
Carried unanimously.
Mr. Rosengren moved to adjourn at 10:07 p.m. Seconded by Mr. Cardinal.
Carried unanimously.
BILLS on next page.
