Attorney Paul Lohmann, representing Roger Rudrogen outlined the prob-
lem that will exist when 35W crosses the village and cubs off the
Rugroden's access to their property. Mr. Heller, Mr. Paul and a
Mr. Myron, the adjoining property owners, were also present. Possible
solution of a service road built parallel to the freeway was brought
out. Attorney Lohmann stated this meeting was to be considered infor-
mational only, that no action or committments by the council was
expected at this time.
Mr. Losher reported on the difficulties encountered by John Wright
and Henry Mossey in the opening of the Oasis Club, and asked the
council to consider an' amendment to Ordnance #21 so that the partner-
ship would come under existing laws and their license could accord-
ingly be issued by the State Liquor Commission. Motion by Speiser,
second by Backlin, to so amend Ordnance #1 carried unanimously.
Mr. & Mrs. Langer asked if they could obtain a burning permit for
brush. Discussion of the matter brought out this permit was to clear
an area for a dump and the burning of the trash. Mr. Locher stated
this would require a special permit issued by the building inspector,
and described the action necessary.
The Treasurer's report was read.
Mr. Backlin stated a letter had been received from the County Engineer
advising a resolution had been passed that the county would build
Road #54, the service road in connection with 35E, in Section 23.
Mr. Speiser reported there had been a slight bit of difficulty at
the rink, but everting was now taken care of.
Mr. Anderson reported on the Planning Commission meeting attended
on January 20th, when new officers were elected. These officers were
Heckenlaible, Chairman, Loyola Thiltgen, Clerk and Glenn Rehbein,
Vice Chairman.
He also asked that the council clarify the terms of the Planning Com-
mission members, and the function of the associated council member.
Other matters discussed at the meeting was the appointment of a
Sewer & Gas Inspector, zoning of commercial property and whether or
not the village should increase the amount of commercial property in
the village.
Mr. Anderson had also attended the last hospital meeting, and gave
the latest financial standing.
Mr. Domning stated the financial statement had been received from the
Utilities Commission, and asked Mr. Donheim to read the highlights of
the statement.
Mr. Locher asked the village if they would agree to a salary of $2.00
per hour for the Clerk of the Municipal Court. Motion by Domning,
second by Speiser, that we approve paying the ('lerk of Court x'2.00
per hour, carried unanimously.
Mr. Locher instructed the council on the cost and method of handling a
village census. Discussion of this item continued to the Fe. 8 meeting.
