90
The March 22nd meeting of the Lino Lakes Council was called to order
at 9:00 p.m. Anderson, Backlin, Domning, Dupre and Zelinka present.
Speiser absent.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read. Backlin moved, Anderson
seconded that the minutes be accepted as read. Carrie d
Treasurers report was read and accepted.
Backlin moved that we authorize the village engineer to let bids for
the gravel needed for this year. Anderson seconded. Motion carried.
Backlin reported that although the inclement weather had resulted in
many trouble calls, the crews had been doing a very good job of keeping
up and everything was under control.
Anderson reported that no Planning Commission Meeting had been held due
to the weather. The hospital meeting had also been postponed for the
same reason, but their financial statement had been mailed out which
Mr. Anderson read at the meeting.
Anderson also reported that the committee organized to look into the
security problem at the Youth Center hoped to meet with the school
officials later in the week.
George Gottwald stated he had some information on blacktopping costs,
but he would talk further with Mr. Speiser and report at the next
meeting on the surfacing projects at the park.
Mr. Locher advised the Council that Mr. and Mrs. Cegla had pleaded
guilty, had been accordingly fined for the charges brought against them
for the sale of liquor to a minor, and although Ordinance #31 required
an automatic revocation of license, that the Cegla's were entitled
to a hearing before the Council acted to revoke the license. Anderson
moved that a hearing be set for April 7th and the Clerk be instructed
to serve the necessary notices. Domning seconded. Motion was unan.
Mr. Locher also advised the maps and money had been forwarded to the
Census Bureau as requested by the bureau.
Domning advised that Mrs. Sarner, the new Assessor, had asked that we
consider appointing a Deputy Assessor, (Mrs. Rehbein) to assist her
for at least 30 days in training for the duties of Assessor. Domning
reported it is also the recommendation of the County Assessor that this
procedure be followed, and the Council will accordingly arrange to
meet with Mrs. Sarner and Mrs. Rehbein to determine what compensation
will be paid for this training period.
Harry Proulx spoke in behalf of the Forest Lake Ambulance Service, look-
ing for donations to purchase a radio system. Mr. Locher advised the
council they could not legally donate, but any council member could
donate as an individual, if he so desired.
It was moved by Domning and seconded by Backlin that we approve the
purchase of antenna's for two radios, in the amount of $27.90, for the
Civil Defense as requested by Mr. Bryant.
