9 <br />Lino Lakes Council meeting of May 24, 1965, was called to order at <br />8:00 p.m. All members present. <br />On motion by Backlin, second by Speiser, the minutes of the previous <br />meeting were approved as read. <br />Mr. Anderson reported that at a special meeting earlier this evening, <br />Mr. Krech had been interviewed by the Planning Commission on his peti- <br />tion for change in location of his riding stable. Mr. Krech did not <br />have the necessary signed pd:.ition from the adjoining neighbors,and <br />Mr. Anderson accordingly motioned the hearing to be continued to the <br />June 16th Planning & Zoning meeting and completed at the June 28th <br />Council Meeting. Mr. Backlin seconded, and the motion carried. <br />Dick Schultz and Bill Handy with Attorney McCauley were present on the <br />rezoning hearing for the proposed VFW building to be erected in Lino <br />Lakes. After a lengthy discussion both pro and con, Anderson ;motioned <br />we permit the passage of the proposed rezoning under Ordnance 40 -A. <br />Mr. Speiser seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Massey of the Oasis was present and asked about the sale of 3.2 <br />beer on Sunday. Mr. Locher provided the legal interpretation of the <br />State law and local ordinance covering this matter. <br />Mr. LaMotte presented a map showing the area in which he wishes to <br />build a road, and Mr. Domning motioned we have our engineer check the <br />matter by wring to the Water Department, specifying the exact location, <br />and asking their permission to cross the area involved. Mr. Backlin <br />seconded the motion, and the motion carried. <br />41r. Hammer, 7650 Oak Lane, reported his driveway badly washed out. <br />Mr. Backlin will check within the next week. <br />Jim Husnik reported that East Rondo Lake Road appeared to be in poor <br />condition, and felt that the Columbus Township grader was not doing <br />a very good job for the money it was costing. <br />Mr. Burque again discussed the maintenance of 64th Street entering <br />into County Road #54, stating it needed working over badly. Mr. Backlin <br />moved to have the engineer survey the road down to the right of way, <br />and also stated that a culvert will be placed while this road is being <br />worked on. Mr. Anderson seconded the motion, motion carried. <br />Mr. Locher answered the question raised about 7th Avenue, that it had <br />been maintained to the North line of Section 29, that he could find no <br />easement, by all definitions appeared to be a public road. <br />Mr. Backlin reported he had again found the hall unlocked on two occasions <br />and moved that two new yale locks be installed. Anderson seconded. <br />Motion carried. <br />Mr. Speiser stated that Mrs. Billik had been carrying the insurance on <br />the park buildings, and requested this insurance be changed over and <br />carried by the village. <br />Mr. Anderson reported that the June 2nd meeting of the Planning Com- <br />mission would be on maps only. (Quarter section maps). <br />
