1 1 .7 <br />Mr. Locher discussed the cost of his having to prosecute court cases, <br />and legal assessments that can be made to help cover such costs. He <br />also advised the Council that a request had come from Municipal Court <br />to have a Deputy Clerk appointed. Ross moved, Speiser seconded that <br />we notify the court of our approval to appoint such a person. Motion <br />carried. <br />Backlin asked for fill and widening work on 7th Avenue at a probable <br />cost of $500. Ross moved, Backlin seconded, we proceed with this work. <br />Motion carried. <br />After further discussion by Mr. Backlin on roads, Domning moved that <br />an installation of a dry well be made on Lakeview to aid in the water <br />run off, and also included in his motion the other projects mentioned <br />by Mr. Backlin that needed completing before fall. Second by Speiser, <br />motion carried. <br />Backlin moved with second by Domning, that we buy a radio for the truck. <br />Motion carried. <br />Speiser reported there were approximately 200 hundred trees yet to be <br />planted in and around the park, and a suggestion was made that possibly <br />we could get some Boy Scouts to help with the planting. <br />Speiser also recommended that we have a park curfew of 10:00 p.m. and <br />that anyone desiring to use the park overnight would need permission <br />of parents and the Constables. Second by Zelinka, motion carried. <br />Motion by Speiser also that we have some 12 x 12 signs put up with the <br />park name on them. Second by Domning. Motion carried. <br />"No Shooting" signs were discussed, and the police were asked to have <br />a recommendation ready for next meeting on the kind of sign we should <br />have printed. <br />Ross reported that the next Planning and Zoning meeting would be on <br />the 20th, and stated there were several interesting things on the agenda. <br />Ross also asked if the Building Inspector was being paid for his trips <br />around the village giving out house numbers etc., and also that the <br />Assessor, Mrs. Sarner, wondered about a pay increase for the coming <br />year. Mrs. Sarner will be asked to attend the budget meeting, which <br />has a tentative date of Thursday, October 14th. <br />Gottwald reported information would be forthcoming from the Corps of <br />Engineers for discussion at the next meeting. He also reported that <br />some of the traps in the creek were being cleaned. <br />Mr. Locher stated he would attend the Planning and Zoning Committee <br />meeting on the 20th concerning the report on the gas franchise. <br />Motion by Backlin, second by Speiser, to pay the following bills: <br />Motion carried. <br />#408 - C.
