128 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Council for December 27, 1965 was <br />called to order by Mayor Domning. All members present. <br />Minutes were read, on motion by Ross, second by Speiser, approved as <br />read. Motion carried. <br />Zelinka motioned, second by Speiser, that we approve applications for <br />cigarette licenses for Gil's Place, Oasis Lounge, Knotty Pine Inn, and <br />Balding Lake Motel. Motion carried. <br />Treasurer's report was read by the Clerk. <br />Clerk will arrange a meeting with the Auditor for Wednesday, Dec. 29th. <br />at 7 :00 p.m. to go over the audit report. <br />Zelinka moved, with second by Ross, that Mrs. Juleen be appointed as <br />Treasurer. With the authorization of the Council for the present clerk <br />to appoint a Deputy Clerk, Mrs. Juleen will also assist in this capacity <br />in preparation for Plan A. <br />Mr. Locher read the information he had received indicating Lots 4 and 5, <br />Block 3, Lakeview Area, were available at a cost of $10.00 per lot, <br />plus $16.13 in special assessments per lot. Ross moved, second by <br />Backlin, we initiate proceedings to purchase these lots. Motion carried. <br />Backlin reported briefly on the roads, and also that Mr. Rehbein had <br />completed the gravelling. <br />Backlin had also checked on the purchase of a Massey Ferguson tractor <br />with loader etc., in the $3500 price range. There are 2 available, and <br />Mr. Backlin requested another member of the Council to accompany him <br />to look at the two machines. <br />A proposed ordinance was studied for the hiring of personnel by the <br />Civil Service Board. Ross moved we study the ordinance and act on it at <br />the January 10 meeting. A name, other than Civil Service Board, shall <br />also be proposed at that time. <br />Ross reported on the activities of the Planning Committee at their last <br />meeting. He moved the Council consider an amendment to Ordinance 30,Sec 3C <br />prorating special use permit fees according to the size of the building <br />involved. Zelinka seconded the motion. Motion carried. The recommen- <br />dation is quoted as follows: "The application shall be accompanied by <br />permit fees according to the following schedule; up to 352 sq ft $15.00; <br />up to 600 sq. feet, $25.00; up to 824 sq. ft, $50.00, over 824 sq. ft, <br />$75.00 minimum; fees shall be set by the Coundt on commercial buildings. <br />Mr. Ross also asked that the following be added to our minutes as a report <br />of their December 15th meeting: "Moved and seconded that we recommend <br />an amendment to Ordnance #6 as suggested by communication of Nov. 16/65 <br />from Attorneys Babcock & Locher adding the following thereto: providing <br />this amendment not interfere with legitimate agricultural or wildlife <br />purposes." motion carried. Also; <br />"Moved and seconded that Mr. Swedel return next month with a recommen- <br />dation as to those parts of the Minneapolis Plumbing & Heating Codes <br />which should be considered for adoption by Lino Lakes. carried."
